Gently start from the tips, work up through the mid-lengths and then finally the roots. Resist the urge to comb your hair from the roots to the tips as this will tighten the knots and lead to further breakage, especially with longer hair. It also makes sure that the conditioner is evenly distributed and the shaft of the hair follicle is flattened downward in the natural direction. Then rinse as usual, and gently squeeze the hair from excess moisture. Use the towel in a gentle pressing action to remove the excess water.
Best is a natural air-drying, or if you are in a hurry add a heat protection serum before the final blowout.
