Face care, mostly from small independent skincare brands: cleansers, serums and creams, face oils, natural make-up, sun protection and a gua sha stone. Every formula on this page was tried on our own skin before we ordered it.
Start with cleansing. Dublin Herbalists' probiotic micellar water, handmade in Ireland, needs no rinsing; Skean's foaming cleanser works up a soft lather; Routinely's oil-based balm cleanser takes off make-up without stripping the skin. For moisture there are Routinely's serums, Dublin Herbalists' regenerating day and night creams and SOWE Botanic Lab's prickly pear and argan oil, which can stand in for a night cream. Medicube's collagen lifting mask is the sheet mask to use before an event. LA CRIQUE's lip and cheek balm and PURE U.'s blush and highlighter add colour without a full make-up routine, and MIDI12's SPF 30 and SPF 50 oil sprays protect face and body.
We know the founders of most of these brands by name. If you are unsure where to begin, choose one cleanser and one moisturiser for your skin type and add sun protection for the day. Or come by the store in Prenzlauer Berg and try them on the back of your hand first.
