Cream Blush Iconic Edition

A dewy cream blush for cheeks, lips and eyes, in five shades from nude pink to deep berry.

Think of cheeks after a walk in cold air, or the first warm afternoon of spring: colour that seems to rise from the skin itself.

This cream blush softens under the fingertips and blends out without edges, for a dewy finish. How much colour is up to you: a fingertip's worth looks natural, more begins to sculpt. Sweet almond, castor, jojoba and rosehip seed oils lend slip, carnauba wax and beeswax give hold, and the formula contains no fragrance. A touch on the lips or lids ties the face together.

Abundance is a taupe with a plum cast and an iridescent sheen, Embrace a soft nude pink and the lightest of the brand's cream blushes. Joyful is a warm coral, Lovely a deep berry, Sun Touched a soft coral.

All five shades are certified organic by CCPB (Certificate CB/09). The formula contains beeswax and carmine, so it is not vegan.

The Zamac compact, a zinc alloy, is designed to be refilled: the used pan is pushed out from below and a new one set in. Over Cream Bronzer in Enchant, Joyful or Sun Touched adds a warm flush.

Warm a little blush on a fingertip or pick it up with a blush brush. Place it on the apples of the cheeks and work it outwards and upwards in small taps until the edges disappear.

Build in thin layers for more intensity; if the colour is too strong, soften it with clean fingertips. On lips and lids, use only a very small amount.

Kjaer Weis was launched in May 2010 by makeup artist Kirsten Kjaer Weis. Its look draws on Danish minimalism, and from the start she gave the case as much thought as the colour inside it: creamy textures for cheeks, lips and eyes, held in an object worth keeping.

For that case, Kjaer Weis approached the French designer Marc Atlan, whose perfume bottle for Comme des Garçons had been an inspiration. Together they developed the Iconic Edition, a metal case designed to be refilled: when the makeup is used up, only the pan or inner tube is replaced. The design took around two years to refine and comes in a box of red textured paper.
