The Buffer-Glow Brush
A dense synthetic brush for placing highlighter precisely on the high points of the face.
The tops of the cheekbones, the brow bone, the bridge of the nose, the small curve above the upper lip: the places where a face catches the light.
The Buffer-Glow Brush is made to place highlighter exactly there. Its dense head of soft synthetic fibres picks up a little powder, and short, dabbing movements press it onto the skin, so the glow builds step by step instead of spreading everywhere at once. The fibres are synthetic and the brush is vegan; a weekly wash keeps the head in shape.
A small tool for the last touch of the morning.
Designed for powder highlighter, the brush is used with a small amount of product, tapped off before it touches the skin. Placed on the cheekbones, brow bone, bridge of the nose and Cupid's bow, it gives a concentrated glow. Since highlighter easily becomes too much, thin layers give more control.
Its dense fibres also handle cream textures: with Kjaer Weis Cream Bronzer in Enchant, it lays a thin layer beneath the cheekbones or along the jaw.
Highlighter goes on after Cream Bronzer, which often makes this the last brush of the routine.
Synthetic fibres
Load the brush with only a little powder highlighter and knock the surplus off against the back of the hand. Then press, rather than sweep, the brush onto the tops of the cheekbones, the brow bone, the bridge of the nose and the Cupid's bow, adding a second layer only where more light is wanted.
Wash the head once a week with a brush cleanser or a mild soap, holding it so that no water runs into the ferrule. Squeeze it gently in a soft cloth and let it dry flat overnight.
Kjaer Weis was launched in May 2010 by makeup artist Kirsten Kjaer Weis. Its look draws on Danish minimalism, and from the start she gave the case as much thought as the colour inside it: creamy textures for cheeks, lips and eyes, held in an object worth keeping.
For that case, Kjaer Weis approached the French designer Marc Atlan, whose perfume bottle for Comme des Garçons had been an inspiration. Together they developed the Iconic Edition, a metal case designed to be refilled: when the makeup is used up, only the pan or inner tube is replaced. The design took around two years to refine and comes in a box of red textured paper.
