Kjaer Weis

Kjaer Weis was launched in May 2010 by makeup artist Kirsten Kjaer Weis. Its look draws on Danish minimalism, and from the start she gave the case as much thought as the colour inside it: creamy textures for cheeks, lips and eyes, held in an object worth keeping.
For that case, Kjaer Weis approached the French designer Marc Atlan, whose perfume bottle for Comme des Garçons had been an inspiration. Together they developed the Iconic Edition, a metal case designed to be refilled: when the makeup is used up, only the pan or inner tube is replaced. The design took around two years to refine and comes in a box of red textured paper.
Kjaer Weis makeup is made in Italy. Individual formulas carry organic certification from the Italian body CCPB or, in the case of the Im-Possible Mascara, from Ecocert Greenlife to the COSMOS ORGANIC standard; shades with synthetic colourants are not certified. What began with cream blush, lip tint and eye shadow grew to include a mascara in 2013 and a lipstick in a refillable case in 2016.
