Azur's handmade body bars in five scents, from sparkling citrus to warm spice and lavender.

Azur makes its body bars by hand in Groningen, the Netherlands, from saponified olive oil, coconut oil, cocoa butter, sweet almond oil, shea butter and castor oil. Choose from five scents: Morning Muse, Sunset Dreams, Spicy Spirit and Lavender Fields are part of the regular range, while Citrus Delight is a limited edition for spring and summer. Each bar is scented with essential oils only and coloured with clays and plant colourants, except Morning Muse, whose green comes from a mineral pigment. A body bar takes the place of a bottle of shower gel and lathers into a creamy foam. The bars are vegan, come in plastic-free packaging and are hand-cut, so each one varies slightly in weight.

Pick a bar for the time of day or the season: citrus for slow summer mornings, petitgrain and bergamot for the first coffee of the day, orange and lavender for long relaxing evenings, cinnamon and cedar wood in the bath after a cold winter walk, lavender and rosemary for the last shower of the day, to wind down. Each scent has its own colour, which makes the bars easy to tell apart on a dish by the basin, and they make small, practical gifts.

Citrus Delight: grapefruit, orange, lemon and litsea cubeba essential oils give a zesty, sherbet-bright citrus scent. The soft yellow colour comes from clay, with calendula flowers and poppy seeds in the mix. A limited edition, made only for spring and summer.

Morning Muse: bergamot, orange and petitgrain open bright and clear, then settle into the soft green character of petitgrain. Bergamot adds a polished, almost tea-like note, and the blend never turns sweet.

Sunset Dreams: sweet orange with lavender and eucalyptus, warm and unhurried, like the last golden hour of a summer day. Its dusky colour comes from red clay (illite).

Spicy Spirit: cedarwood, orange, cinnamon and patchouli. The orange keeps the spice lively, while patchouli and cedarwood give the blend a deep, grounded base. Turmeric and red clay give it its earthy colour, with calendula flowers and poppy seeds in the mix.

Lavender Fields: lavender and rosemary essential oils in a floral, herbal blend inspired by the lavender fields of the Côte d'Azur. Alkanet root (Alkanna tinctoria) gives the bar its soft purple colour, and it is finished with dried lavender flowers and poppy seeds.

Mighty Mint: A refreshing blend of eucalyptus and cool peppermint to awaken your senses and leave your skin feeling fresh and clean.

Wet your skin and the bar with warm water.
Work up a lather between your hands or directly on the skin.
Rinse off thoroughly.
Let the bar dry between uses on a soap dish that drains well, so it lasts longer.

Azur was founded by Eline. Eline is trained as a molecular biologist with a passion for both the skin and the environment. She noticed that regular care products contain a lot of unnecessary chemicals, which are not only bad for our environment, but also for our skin and our body. In addition, almost everything is packaged in plastic and many cosmetics contain micro plastics. We can see the consequences in the oceans, which are now extremely polluted with plastic soup. This had to be different. She started making her own soaps. Completely different from a 'supermarket soap'. At first the soaps were only for personal use, but soon the soaps became a great success among family and friends, and so Eline decided to sell the soaps.
